Getting started
MyIDToken helps you verify who you are dealing with online.
You can share your own ID token so others can confirm your legal name, or verify a token you receive from someone else.
It is useful for marketplaces, rentals, hiring, and other online interactions where trust matters.
Each verification is based on official identity checks, and users cannot edit the verified name shown to others.
Only the required verification result is revealed: the verified real name. Other personal details are not shown to token verifiers.
In short, MyIDToken gives you a simple way to build trust and reduce fraud risk before you proceed.
The service is this easy
Let's say you need to verify person X. Maybe you only know their email address and display name, or their Facebook profile. Both can be fake or manipulated.
Ask person X to create an ID token in MyIDToken
Person X creates the ID token and sends it to you
Note: Before creating their first ID token, person X must identify themselves using bank authentication. This is how the real name is extracted and stored securely.
You verify the ID token in our service and see person X's real name
Note: Each ID token can be valid for a custom time period, but it can be used only ONCE. You need a new ID token for every new verification.
How to create an ID token (to prove your identity)
- Log in to MyIDToken
- If this is your first token, complete bank or mobile ID verification first
- Select 'Create token'
- Fill in the token details
Description
A description helps keep the token in the right hands. It is shown after successful verification so both sides can confirm the context. Example: 'handbag seller bestdeal123@gmail.com'. A description is required unless expiry is 10 minutes.
Token expiration
If you are in live chat or a phone call, choose 10 minutes. If you send the token by email, choose a longer expiry (up to 2 days) and add a clear description.
Done. Your new token appears immediately and is also available in 'Token list'. Tokens are random, so you can create a new one if the phrase is hard to read or say.
How to verify another person's ID token
- Log in to MyIDToken
- If you have not added a payment card yet, do it now
- Select 'Verify token'
- Enter the ID token you received
- If verification succeeds, you will see the person's real name. Save it if needed, as names are not stored for later viewing. You are charged only for successful verifications. Current uninvoiced usage is shown on your profile page.
- If the token is expired, deleted, or entered incorrectly, the name cannot be shown and no fee is charged.
